Victor Whatley
Regional Risk Manager
Victor has been with the Alliance Interstate Risk Service team since September 2015 as Risk Manager, and in February 2023, was promoted to Regional Risk Manager, Region 1. He is responsible for providing loss control and safety services to members and insureds in his assigned territory, but also for supervision of Region 1, which encompasses south Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and the western panhandle of Florida.
Prior to joining the AIRS team, Victor worked for international and domestic transportation/logistics companies in operations, compliance, security, and safety. He has served the insurance sector on the carrier and agency/broker side working in account management, loss control, and sales.
Victor obtained an IMBA/MIBS degree from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and a B.S. in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point. He holds the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation through the BCSP, the Certified Director of Safety (CDS) designation through the North American Transportation Management Institute (NATMI) and Transportation Risk Specialist (TRS) designation through the Motor Carrier Insurance Education Foundation (MCIEF).
Victor and his wife, Maria, have two children, Victoria and Benjamin. They enjoy theatre, music, and travel to different countries to experience cultures, customs, food and arts. A favorite destination is Maria’s birthplace, Ecuador.
