Trucking Associations
In 1993, the trucking industry was burdened with one of the sharpest workers' compensation rate increases in decades. Unable to find adequate coverage or saddled with skyrocketing rates, the trucking industry found itself looking for answers from their state trucking associations. The Alabama Trucking Association Board of Directors took action and formed the ATA Workers' Compensation Fund (now the ATA Comp Fund) to help provide an alternative source for workers’ compensation coverage. The ATA Comp Fund actively supports the Alabama Trucking Association, the Georgia Motor Trucking Association, the South Carolina Trucking Association, the Virginia Trucking Association, the North Carolina Trucking Association, and the Iowa Motor Truck Association through membership dues and royalties. Now, through Alliance Interstate Risk Service and the AIR Program, comprehensive, affordable coverage is available to the transportation industry nationwide. It is our goal to partner with state trucking associations to offer their members our program and to support those associations through sponsorships and partnerships.
